Stir It Up With Live Music at The Waterdog This Weekend

Just hang in there. We’re almost there. Friday is coming. What do I like more than weekends? Nothing. I can’t think of anything. Ok, that’s not true. I also like vacations and holidays. 🙂 So yay for this weekend! Plenty happening.easter

Looking for what to do in Midcoast Maine this weekend? No worries, there’s plenty happening. I’ve got you covered.

My recommendation is to go see the 220s playing at The Waterdog Friday night. Have you been in to seen the restaurant since they changed over from Billy’s Tavern to new ownership? I haven’t been in yet. Let’s go check it out! Maybe try the food before the show too. I’ve heard good things thus far. Good price, good portions, good quality, etc. So, let’s get out there and give it a try! And if you’ve got the kids – don’t worry, we’ve got cihldcare under control. See what the MRC has going on Friday night. So it’s settled. Now let’s just hope for good weather.

I’ll add more weekend stuff over the next few days. Just wanted to get something up now for those folks who like to plan ahead. Check back soon and I’ll have more for ya. Enjoy!

What’s Rockin’ in Rockland this Weekend?

I was at P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center in Camden playing with the cats last weekend because my Little sister likes them.  I don’t even like cats. But then I saw this one cat, and, no lie, I almost adopted it right then. Annnd, I’m single.

And then this morning, I was at Zoot getting some coffee, and I noticed the cups… 10153652_10201903594971146_8479544969159713245_nLet’s just say I’m feelin’ a latte like the little cup lately. 😛

OK, OK. Patience is a virtue. Apparently, some of us are not virtuous. JK JK! You’re all fabulous. But, if you’re eager to know what’s happening this weekend, you don’t have to be patient any longer, here’s what’s coming our way!

1 Year. 3Crow. Another Good Weekend for Beer Lovers & Foodies in Mid-Coast Maine

Wow, it’s hard to believe that 3Crow is celebrating it’s first year anniversary. This year has flown by. I remember all the hype when 3Crow was renovating their space before opening this time last year and no one really knew what to expect. But now, they’ve become a staple destination in Rockland. I love the atmosphere, the mood, and more importantly: the food.

On Thursday, March 27th they will have their anniversary dinner. It will be a 5 course meal with their delicious Southern style dishes and 5 beer pairings! 7pm.  $57 per ticket (inclusive of tax/gratuity).  They say gifts for the first anniversary should be paper. Tickets are paper… so, go buy your tickets! But hurry up because half the tickets are gone already. Stop in the restaurant or call ’em up to make sure you’ve got tickets.

Untitled

If you can’t make the Thursday dinner, don’t worry they’ll have other festivities throughout the weekend, so make sure you stop in and help celebrate the anniversary and, hey, stick around and enjoy some Maine Craft beer while you’re at it!

Friday, March 28th is Allagash Night at 3Crow. Gosh, do I love me some Allagash, so naturally I was psyched to hear that Allagash Brewing Company would be paying 3Crow a visit. They’ll have 4 Allagash beers on draught. They’ll do raffle drawings for 3Crow gift cards and Allagash swag each hour. 4-8pm, Free event, no tickets necessary, just come on down, hang out, enjoy some good beer.

Have you tried the black? Saosin is Allagash’s newest year round beer. It’s big release is Marsh 21. So get on down to 3Crow to taste the new brew!

Saturday, March 29th is Sebago Cask Night at 3Crow. Still celebrating the 3Crow anniversary. Now they’ve got Sebago Brewing Company coming in! They are going to tap a bar-top cask and also have some Sebago drafts behind the bar. Again they’ll do raffle drawings for 3CROW gift cards and Sebago swag every hour! C’mon in for a brew and a chance for prizes to help celebrate with 3Crow! Again, no tickets necessary for this event. 4-8pm.

Sebago comes to us! Did you see the license plate? Nice.

I will say, these kinds of events are quite fun. I went to the Shipyard Promo at Cappy’s on Saturday and here are some highlights:

Saturday March 15 – Saint Paturday Day

  1. OK — Stop everything. The MURDER WEAPON is playing at Myrtle St. Tavern! Get ready to rock and roll, get sweaty, dance like crazy, and then rock out some more. Last time they played ’round these parts was at Billy’s Tavern (RIP Billy’s). The band was a huge hit, they played some of their new releases which I quite liked. I also saw them in Boston area this past fall. That was a fun time as well. Right, so you probably want to know what the band sounds like, huh? Psychobilly. Punk. Rock. Rockabilly. Definitely danceable. A cool fusion of musical genres. Guitar, drums, vocals, and stand up bass. I really like the vocals.  50s blues/rock  (Think Elvis Presly) melodies & edgy vocals mixed with a faster punk pace. Give them a listen on Reverbnation. Or even better, you can listen to the ENTIRE new album and download it for free on BandCamp. (Check out Dead Light & The Crawl.) You’re going to want your dancing shoes for this show. Band starts around 9pm. $3 cover. 21+

If you like reading the blog, let’s get the word out there and get more followers, so it doesn’t fizzle out. 😦 No one likes fizzle. People do like fizz though. Fizz is good.
