Young and Wild and Me: Midcoast Millennials Mentors

Dear all young professionals in Midcoast area: please consider coming to the Midcoast Millennials Mentoring (M3) group.

Dear everyone else: please consider telling any millenials you know about this peer support group so we can continue to grow!

M3 is “a peer-run group focused on providing support to 20-somethings in starting their own businesses and creating their futures.”

The next meeting is Thursday, May 22, 5.307 p.m., at URock (4th floor of the Breakwater Building 91 Camden Street, Rockland).

Last week we talked about Networking dos & donts. Each week there is a panel of mentors. These are local business owners, professionals in various fields including law, sales & marketing, etc., and even a women who has worked for college admissions offices and has advice for those of us considering Grad School.

The group is peer led so we as millennials (ages 18-33) come up with the topics we want to discuss such as: managing college debt, finding jobs, healthcare, making connections, navigating career paths, discovering our passions, starting our own business, etc. Then the mentors help answer questions or guide us or bring in guest specialists to talk with us about things.

Last week we decided to work on writing a one-page description of the business we want to set up, the career we want to follow, or what you are thinking of for the next move in our life path. We will share and edit these together at the next meeting. Then we will discuss what we want our next project to be. If you missed last meeting, no worries, write up a one-pager and come meet the gang. It’s very informal, very welcoming. And there are snacks. 🙂

It’s a nice supportive opportunity to help each other grow as young professionals. If you have any questions, feel free to comment or message me on facebook or email our fearless leader, Richard Ogle at richardaogle@gmail.com. FMI, find M3 on facebook here or check out an article about the group here.
