Wow, what a weekend! I made it to see Dolphin Striker & The Wiyos at the WERU fundraiser, the toboggan championships, The Coloradas and Hello Newman. Hope you all had as much fun as I did. If you’re still looking for more fun, here’s what you’ve got this Sunday 2/9/14.
2-4pm Irish Music at The Rock City Cafe. An informal gathering of Irish musicians playing traditional Irish tunes. Wish I could make it to this!!
Sunday evenings at MRC Women’s Ice Hockey!!! I know it’s not your typical event listing, but had to do a plug for it. This is a lot of fun. You don’t need any prior experience. You don’t need to own your own equipment or skates. It’s a really nice, welcoming group of ladies, all different ability levels. We will be doing skills & drills and scrimmages for the month of February. Great time to give something new a try. Send me a message if you want details on how to get started.
Sunday Night salsa, merengue and bachata at Swing & Sway Dancing, 143 Maverick St., Rockland. Free/donation
Rockland’s Strand Theatre has a “Mini Film Fest” going on this Sunday presented by the Maine Media College. Mini film fest consists of a double feature for $7.50. 12:30 show and a 2:30 show. Screenwriter, Janet Roach, hosts. The films look good. Sounds like a good way to spend a Sunday.
Also –Sunday tip: go get a Bloody Mary from Hot Toddy at The Myrtle St. Best way to enjoy your Sunday Funday.
Fog’s Drink & Draw is tonight, starts at 7pm. Lots of fun, check out the post I did earlier to see some more pics.
There may be more neat things happening, but I’m rushing out the door so I may have missed some. Feel free to post comments with other events happening today. Thanks!
