First Friday – Music Around the Mid-Coast 207

Hey Mid-Coasters – TGIF! Boy did that week fly by!

I’ve taken it upon myself to let ya’ll know what is going on for local music this weekend. I’m not listing other cool things that are happening like Camden’s Winterfest, Superbowl fun, etc., — just music. I figured it’d be nice if there was one place to look to see where all the live shows were going to be, so here it is. If you know of more music performances for this weekend, feel free to post in the comments. I’m going to try to do this again next weekend, so if I’ve forgotten any venues, let me know.

Friday January 31:
Tomorrow Morning a pop rock group with some reggae influences will be playing originals and covers this Friday night at Rock Harbor Pub & Brewery at 8:00pm. Should be fun.

Karaoke at The Myrt & Speakeasy.

Saturday, Feb. 1:
Vicky Andres and Max McFarland play rock and blues at Rock City Coffee Velvet Lounge 5-7pm.

Blind Albert performs blues music at The Quarry Tavern, beneath the East Wind Inn, Tenants Harbor. 5-8pm

Mid Life Crisis is playing at the Myrtle Street Tavern. The usual $3 cover and fabulous bartending staff. Music starts at 9pm or so.

Jordan Kaulback‘s music at The Speakeasy at 8pm. This sounds like it will be a nice change from their usual jazz music and I was surprised by how much I liked this guys’ sound. It’s fun and you can move to it. I may have to check this one out.

Tune in next week to see what else is going down – teaser – HELLO NEWMAN next Saturday!

Also, check out this sweet review of Maine band The Ghost of Paul Revere, featured in The SCENE, written by yours truly, here.

Have a happy weekend everyone.
